Do not eat or drink (alcohol, cokes, teas with sugar), except plain water 6 hours before the examination.
Don’t use chewing gums and candies in that period
Avoid hard physical activity and exercise for 24 hours before the exam.
Bring your medical record and carry your most recent x-ray studies (x-ray, CT, MRI).
Take a bottle of water (1,5l).
Take your medications in the morning. Take the list of medications that you use.
Before the examination we are checking level of glucose. If you are diabetic patient you should phone to inform us before . If you use insulin, take it with you.
We suggest you to wear something loose and comfortable, and it is important that you are not wearing any metal, including jewelry, zips and bra hooks.
If you are unable to attend or are going to be delayed, please telephone us as soon as possible.
Arrive 60 minutes before your PET/CT scan. You can’t be accompanied by minors or pregnant women.
The duration of the exam will vary, but the average is about 3 hours.
If we are unable to made the examination from unknown reasons, you will be informed in time.
Using cell phones or other electronic devices is forbidden, during the examination.
WARNING: PET/CT MAY BE DELAYED OR CANCELED IF THE PATIENT:
Is treated with radiotherapy or surgery is performed 3 months before the scanning.
Is treated with chemotherapy 3 weeks before the scanning.
Has increased level of glucose before the scanning.
Is claustrophobic.
Have difficulties with lying longer time (~90 minutes).
