
Nuclear Medicine Specialist
MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Assoc. Prof. Ana Ugrinska is Medical Director at the University Institute of Positron Emission Tomography. She has 25 years of experience in the field of nuclear medicine and pathophysiology. Extensive experience in thyroid diseases and thyroid cancer. Her professional and scientific interest is nuclear oncology, including hybrid techniques and positron emission tomography. She has devoted her career to the improvement of the diagnostics and treatment of the patients with malignant diseases.
She held several long-term fellowships in the field of nuclear oncology at the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the University Hospital in Leiden, Netherlands, at the PET Center in the National Oncologic Institute in Milan, Italy, and at the University Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. Her current research areas include positron emission tomography in patients with breast and prostate cancer as part of the personalized therapy plan, and the optimization of radioiodine therapy for thyroid cancer.
As Associate Professor of Nuclear Medicine and Pathophysiology at the Medical Faculty at University “ Ss Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje , she teaches undergraduate and postgraduate programs in nuclear medicine and pathophysiology. She is the author and co-author of more than 50 scientific articles and book chapters in the field of nuclear medicine, invited speaker at many conferences and a participant &coordinator in national and international projects.
Prof. Ugrinska is member of Macedonian Medical Association (MMA), Macedonian association of Nuclear Medicine (MANM), European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM), World Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology (WFNMB), World Association of Radiopharmaceutical and Molecular Therapy (WARMTH). Actively participating in the promotion and development of nuclear medicine at the Balkan countries. National delegate at the European Association of Nuclear Medicine for several years and Deputy National Delegate at this moment. She is National Delegate at WFNMB and WFNMB liaison with WHO for Europe. Currently she is President of the Macedonian Association of Nuclear Medicine.
