Marina Zdraveska Kochovska, PhD

dr.sci. Marina Zdraveska Kochovska works as a Medical physicist at the University Institute of Positron Emission Tomography in Skopje. She has worked for 20 years in the field of nuclear medicine physics at Nuclear medicine department, Medical faculty in Skopje where she has realized specialization in medical nuclear physics. In 2014 she has defended her PhD thesis titled ”Effective dose estimation and risk assessment in patients treated with iodine 131 using Monte Carlo simulation” in Novi Sad, Serbia.

Her professional focus and field of interest is on safety and dosimetry of patients, occupationally exposed workers, QC of SPECT and PET/CT systems, imaging in hybrid imaging systems, cyclotron production of radioisotopes and radiation protection. She has attended European School of Medical Physics in Archamps, France, and realized three months IAEA fellowship at Ryhov Hospital, Jonkoping, Sweden. Continuing education for medical physicist in Cyclotron unit and PET/CT, was organized at the University Hospital, Policlinico S. Orsola – Malpighi, Bologna, Italy. As a medical physicist she was involved in a national project for implementation and establishment of cyclotron unit and PET/CT in the Republic of N. Macedonia.

She was involved in other regional project as “Management of medical radioactive waste in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia”. She is the author and co-author of more than 60 scientific articles in the field of nuclear medicine and medical physics.

She is a member of EFOMP, EANM, Society of safety and health, Macedonian Association of Nuclear Medicine and lecturer at Institute for medical physics (IFMP).
